This page is the home page of Koichi Sasada (笹田耕一 in Japanese).
Koichi Sasada is a programmer who primarily develops the Ruby interpreter (CRuby/MRI). He received a Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology from the University of Tokyo in 2007. He was a faculty member at the University of Tokyo (Assistant Associate, 2006–2008; Assistant Professor, 2008–2012). After 13 years in academia, he joined Matz's team at Heroku, Inc (Salesforce). He subsequently worked at Cookpad (2017–2023) and is currently developing a Ruby interpreter at STORES, Inc. (2023–). He is also a director of the Ruby Association. 大学在学時からRuby向け仮想マシンYARVを開発し、2007年に「Ruby 1.9」に採用される。 以降、Rubyコミッターとして言語処理系の高速化に従事し、仮想マシンやガーベージコレクションの性能改善などを行う。 東京大学大学院情報理工学系研究科助手、助教、講師（2006～2012年）。 株式会社セールスフォース・ドットコム、Heroku, Inc.（2012～2017年）。 その後、クックパッド株式会社（2017～2023年）を経て、現在はSTORES株式会社にてRubyインタプリタ開発に従事（2023年～）。 Rubyアソシエーション理事（2012年～現任）。 博士（情報理工学）。未踏ユーススーパークリエータ（2004年）、情報処理学会山下記念研究賞（2015年）。ほか、受賞多数（詳細）。
